Proposals in context
The consultation ran from 17 December 2021 to 28 January 2022. Proposals addressed inter-agency data use, public and personal information, digital correspondence, ownership transparency and selected administrative procedures. The notice explains the policy rationale behind those proposals.
Privacy, correspondence and ownership records
The proposals included partial masking of identification numbers, a public contact address in place of a residential address, and electronic correspondence through a virtual mailbox. They also contemplated annual confirmation of controller information and changes to nominee-director records. These were consultation proposals; the subsequently enacted legislation and commencement notices determine the applicable obligations.
