What the document covers
The guide adapts nominee shareholder recordkeeping and central lodgment to foreign companies. It provides a register template and discusses the relevant disclosure obligations.
Specific requirements and implications
The relevant foreign company must have share capital, and any claimed exemption must fit a stated category. Registration from 16 June 2025 triggers disclosure at registration; becoming a nominee later has its own notification timetable. The company records changes within seven days after being informed and submits corresponding central updates within two business days of the internal change. A person may be a nominee shareholder, a controller, both or neither under the separate definitions.
