Purpose and process
ICA introduced iris enrolment during service-centre transactions such as passport collection from 2017. Iris complements fingerprint identification so people with faded/scarred fingerprints can still use automated systems. Enrolment is contactless, non-intrusive and normally takes seconds.
Preparation
Avoid coloured, patterned or cosmetic contact lenses to help capture. Iris enrolment does not itself grant admission or a new pass; it supports identity verification during eligible clearance.
