Acquisition evidence
The additional-information checklist for a shares sale ruling requests investee name, quoted/unquoted status, related-company status and whether bought on-market, purchase date, director resolutions, purchase/incidental costs and accounting treatment, vendor relationships, finance-source breakdown, loan terms and acquisition purpose. Include shares purchased, equity percentage and per-share price.
Return calculation and sale chronology
The annual return formula is (gross dividend minus interest and other expenses) divided by acquisition cost including incidental expenses. For disposal, supply share quantity/equity percentage, negotiation start/parties and exchange-versus-private-deal status, price and valuation method, sale resolutions, sale/purchase agreement and transfer dates, holding period, sale circumstances, purchaser relationships, use of proceeds, profit/loss calculation and accounting treatment, and reasons for a capital classification.
Company powers and transaction history
Supply authorised/paid-up capital, relevant individual holdings linked to group companies and constitutional powers to deal in shares. For past disposals give investee names and purchase/sale dates and prices, purchase/sale reasons, gains/losses and whether taxable or under objection; also describe subsequent disposal profits/losses. For restructuring, give all business/non-business reasons, involved entity names/addresses/Singapore tax references, step details and before/after structure diagrams for each step. This is supporting evidence for a ruling request, not a ruling approving capital treatment.
