Normally claim in the period containing the invoice or permit date. IRAS permits the posting or processing date only when used consistently, originals are held and controls prevent duplicate claims. An eligible purchase does not need to wait for the related sale in a later period or immediate supplier payment. However, unpaid supplier amounts after twelve months from their due date require the specified repayment adjustment. Match the source document to its claim period and check duplicates across corrections and later processing. Do not shift an invoice arbitrarily between returns simply to change a refund or payment balance.
