e-Filing an Individual Income Tax Return

Prepare income and relief information, verify the portal’s pre-filled details, and submit the consolidated statement. A saved draft is not a filed return.

Source checked · 11 October 2026

Prepare and check the return

Log in with Singpass or SFA. Have Form IR8A ready for non-AIS employment, dependant details for new reliefs, rental and other income records, and business or partnership references where relevant. Verify pre-filled earnings, donations and reliefs; contact the reporting employer or organisation about discrepancies, and declare income that has not been included.

Submit and retain the acknowledgement

Remove reliefs no longer available, adjust shared claims and add eligible new claims before checking the consolidated statement and submitting. The portal displays an acknowledgement after successful filing. Sessions expire after more than 20 minutes of inactivity. Drafts remain for 14 days and must be submitted within that period or by 18 April, whichever is earlier.

Correct a submission

IRAS permits one re-filing by 18 April. The replacement must contain the full applicable return and overrides the earlier submission. After a tax bill is issued, use the amendment procedure within 30 days of the bill date. The article describes the filing process; it does not extend an elapsed filing deadline.
