Individual Income Tax Rates: Residents and Non-Residents

From YA 2024, resident rates range from 0% to 24%. Non-resident employment uses a separate comparison, while other income and withholding categories have their own rules.

Source checked · 11 October 2026

Progressive resident bands

The first S$20,000 of chargeable income is taxed at 0%. Subsequent bands rise through 2%, 3.5%, 7%, 11.5%, 15%, 18%, 19%, 19.5%, 20% and 22%. The S$500,000–S$1 million band is 23%, and income above S$1 million is 24%. Each rate applies to its band, rather than the whole income. The page separately records YA 2025 and YA 2024 rebates; those are not stated as YA 2026 rebates.

Non-resident income

Employment income is taxed at 15% or progressive resident rates, whichever gives the higher tax. Directors’ fees, rental income, pensions and other income generally face 24%, subject to specified reduced withholding rules. The corresponding general rate before YA 2024 was 22%, so historical tables must be matched to the correct year.

Selected withholding categories

From YA 2024, non-resident professional services use 15% of gross or 24% of net income, and public entertainers use a 15% concessionary rate. Loan-related payments may use 15% and royalties 10% subject to conditions. SRS withdrawals generally use 24%; a 15% concession requires annual withdrawals no more than S$200,000 and no other income that year, with the required declaration.
