NSman Relief: Self, Wife and Parent Amounts

NSman Self Relief uses the April–March service work year, while spouse and parent reliefs have citizenship and eligibility conditions.

Source checked · 11 October 2026

Self relief and service records

Eligible operationally ready servicemen generally receive S$1,500 without activities or S$3,000 with activities; key appointment holders receive S$3,500 or S$5,000 respectively. Listed regulars and persons with relevant offences are excluded. YA 2026 uses 1 April 2025–31 March 2026. Authorities transmit records automatically, so January–March activities can lead to a later revised bill after the work year closes.

Wife, parent and overlapping claims

An eligible citizen wife receives S$750 where her husband qualifies; specified widows remain eligible unless remarried. Each eligible citizen parent receives S$750 regardless of the number of NSman children, including specified deceased-child situations. Self and parent relief are not added where both apply: the higher is given. Wife and parent relief likewise do not produce two S$750 amounts for the same mother. Use myTax Mail with the stated evidence to correct omitted or changed eligibility.
