ABSD (Trust) Refund for Identifiable Individual Beneficiaries

A qualifying trust can recover the difference between upfront 65% ABSD (Trust) and the highest applicable beneficiary-profile charge.

Source checked · 11 October 2026

Beneficiary conditions

All beneficiaries must be identifiable individuals with vested beneficial ownership that is not revocable, variable or subject to a subsequent condition. Income-only, unborn, discretionary, contingent, remainder or reversion interests do not satisfy the stated definition. Naming a child alone is insufficient if ownership only vests at a future age or condition.

Pay first and apply within six months

Pay the 65% duty before seeking remission and submit within six months of execution through desktop Request > Apply for Assessment/Appeal for Waiver. Attach the trust instrument and purchase documents. The refund goes to the liable payer; the amount depends on the highest beneficiary profile, so it is not automatically the full 65%.
