Self-Employed Tax Services: Business Income, Amendments and Payments

Self-employed individuals use personal tax services to report trade income and manage assessments. Their amendment service and supporting-record requirements differ from the employee directory.

File with the correct business information

Sign in using Singpass or the appropriate SFA and prepare the business or partnership reference number, relevant income records, rental information and new relief details. Where employment income also exists, retain Form IR8A information if the employer is outside AIS. The commission-paying organisation search can show whether an organisation participates in electronic submission and whether records have been sent. These checks support filing but do not replace the taxpayer’s own records.

Review the correct amendment window

The self-employed directory describes amendment requests for the current YA, an advance clearance YA and the previous one YA. Supporting evidence can include a certified statement of accounts and documents for changed income or reliefs. IRAS gives a 15-working-day processing estimate for this request. Other listed functions include tax-agent authorisation, myTax Mail, GIRO, payment, notices and qualifying EIS applications. Authorising an agent gives that agent access to the specified individual income tax functions and correspondence; use the authorisation service to manage or terminate it.
