Deadline and responsible party
Cancel when the nanny no longer works for the employer, within one week after departure. An expired permit needs no cancellation, but extend the visit pass if still in Singapore to avoid overstaying. Employer/EA cancels; the EA first obtains FDW eService employer authorisation.
Cancellation is immediate, with levy ending the preceding day. The nanny must depart before visit-pass expiry, and permanent departure also requires cancellation within one week.
Steps and consequences
Cancel through FDW eService and give the acknowledgement letter to the nanny. Select the appropriate reason: My helper or I wish to end this employment or she has gone home and will not be returning.
Maintain lawful stay and request visit-pass extension before expiry or face a fine. Overstaying a visit pass and employing a foreigner without a valid work pass are criminal offences.
