Paying S Pass Levy: Due Dates, GIRO and Non-payment Consequences

Pay by the following month’s 17th, maintain sufficient funds and understand the consequences of two consecutive missed months.

Source reviewed:

Monthly payment deadline

Pay by the 17th of the following month, or the next working day if it is a weekend/public holiday, as shown on the bill. The source’s example is May 2024 levy due 17 June 2024. Use GIRO, or PayNow QR without an existing GIRO arrangement. The latest bill is available on the third working day each month.

Make GIRO succeed

Deduction follows the same monthly deadline. Keep enough funds by 6pm on the preceding working day and ensure any bank deduction limit covers the bill. Check deduction status in the levy service two working days later or through banking. The example deduction on Friday 17 January 2025 becomes visible Tuesday 21 January. A failed deduction can create penalties on the next bill.

Consequences of incomplete or late payment

Late-payment penalties apply. Missing two consecutive months leads to revocation of existing Work Permits and S Passes in the following month. S Pass holders need new approved passes after arrears/fines are cleared before working again. Employers can also lose permission to apply, face recovery proceedings, and restrictions can affect other companies headed by the employer, its partners or directors.
