Self-Employed EP Funding: Capital Is Not Operating Cash
Separate registered capital, cash received, shareholder loans and revenue. Budget salaries, office costs, accounting and delivery with payment timing and forecast assumptions. A registered capital figure is not evidence of available operating cash or automatic EP eligibility. Reconcile funding explanations with bank and accounting records.
Distinguish the figures
Separate registered capital, funds received and planned investment. Record dates, sources and purposes so corporate records and the budget can be reconciled instead of displaying one large figure.
Budget for operations
Consider salaries, premises, suppliers and professional services, including when revenue is expected. Use conservative scenarios and do not count uncertain financing as available cash.
Avoid a capital guarantee
Plan incorporation and pass matters separately. A capital figure is not an EP approval guarantee. Confirm whether particular financial evidence is needed for the actual application or official request.
Preparation Example
If corporate records and bank funds refer to different dates, label each date and amount and explain the difference. A proposed shareholder investment should not be described as funds already received.
Pre-consultation Checklist
Registered capital; received funds; planned investment; expense and revenue assumptions.
EP Questions and Practical Answers
Is there a universal minimum investment for Self-Employed EP?
Do not treat a provider’s package amount as a universal MOM requirement. Review official EP eligibility separately from business funding. Distinguish professional fees, incorporation costs, payroll and operating cash rather than combining them into an approval promise.
