The 12 March 2024 announcement introduced QR car clearance from 19 March 2024. MyICA profiles could be populated from Singpass for residents or by scanning the passport MRZ. First-time visitors or users of a changed passport still presented the physical passport.
Group example and checks
The announcement’s example is a family of four stored on one phone. It described up to ten passport profiles per named group QR, and rejection where the QR people/count did not match the vehicle. Estimated savings were planning figures. Current eligibility for other vehicle modes is covered on ICA’s live QR page.
