Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme (ACAP)

Key requirements

Eligibility includes established controls, unqualified accounts, at least three years’ registration and the stated compliance and audit conditions. Initial Premium status lasts five years and Merit three; renewals can be six and four years. Award brings specified reduced compliance activity, quicker refunds and scheme-renewal benefits, subject to anomalies and continuing conditions. Post-ACAP reviews remain required. The first-review one-time penalty waiver requires completion within fifteen months of accepted participation and attaining status, for qualifying non-fraudulent errors. Renewal starts in the last status year and has independent-review deliverables; an internal checklist alone does not constitute endorsement.
