Viewing rights and editing rights differ
The 18 August 2025 FAQ requires partners, staff and tax agents to be authorised through Corppass before viewing partnership details. Editing the partnership’s address and contact information is limited to partners and staff with an approver role. Permission to view is therefore not the same as permission to update, and the FAQ does not grant tax agents the same editing role.
Registered business address: which agency handles it
Only partnerships not registered with ACRA or another relevant UEN-issuing agency can edit the registered business address through this IRAS service. A registered partnership must lodge the change with ACRA through Bizfile or with its relevant UEN-issuing agency. The FAQ states that IRAS updates its records from those agency details within three weeks.
Separate mailing address for partnership correspondence
A precedent partner may want tax notices, letters and return forms sent somewhere other than the registered business address. An authorised partner or staff approver can open the partnership-contact update service, select the mailing-address option, enter the new address and save the change. IRAS must be informed whenever that mailing address changes.
Processing time and the two address routes
Contact changes are generally immediate, while address changes through this service are processed by the next day under the FAQ. That next-day statement should not be confused with the separate three-week update from ACRA or another UEN agency. Identify whether you are changing a correspondence address or the official registered address before choosing the route.
