Jurisdiction and reportable accounts
The agreement operates under Article 6 of the administrative-assistance Convention. Denmark excludes the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Financial institutions are allocated by residence and branch location: Singapore branches of foreign institutions are included, while overseas branches of Singapore institutions are excluded from the Singapore definition. CRS due diligence identifies Danish tax residents and applicable controlling persons of passive entities; nationality alone does not determine reportability.
Annual exchange and the initial exception
Exchanges cover 2017 and later years within nine months after year-end, provided both jurisdictions have the necessary reporting legislation. Singapore’s custodial gross-proceeds reporting for Danish accounts starts with 2018 information; the exception does not defer all account data. Authorities exchange XML data securely and address notified reporting errors under domestic law. Convention confidentiality and use restrictions apply, with immediate notification of safeguard breaches. A Singapore institution files through IRAS under Singapore rules rather than sending its return directly to Denmark.
