Viewing Tax Account Balances and Statements: August 2024 Guide (Alternate PDF)

Read tax balances by tax type, examine five years of transactions, download statements and access GIRO details using the August 2024 portal guide.

What the account summary shows

The August 2024 guide explains the account-summary screen shown after signing in to myTax Portal. It brings together tax types with outstanding balances, so the first step is to identify the relevant tax account rather than treating every balance as a single liability. Open the detail view for the tax type you want to investigate.

Reviewing transactions and downloading a statement

The detail screen provides financial transactions for the current year and the preceding four years. Review the relevant period, then use the statement-download function to obtain a PDF Statement of Account. This gives you a record that can be kept with the tax account information; the guide does not describe access to a longer transaction history.

Existing and new GIRO arrangements

If an active GIRO arrangement exists, the account-summary screen offers a route to its plan details. The transaction-detail screen also provides a GIRO application route for tax payments. Reviewing an existing payment plan and applying for a new arrangement are separate actions; downloading a statement itself does not create a GIRO instruction.

Scope and document date

IRAS published this four-page user guide in August 2024. It is an explanation of the portal workflow at that date, rather than a comprehensive account of all tax-payment issues. The source PDF remains available for the original screen illustrations.

Official source

This article independently explains the substantive contents of the official PDF, including the relevant conditions, procedures and annexes. The linked document remains the authoritative source for its original wording, and later changes should be checked separately.
