Factories covered by the WSH Act must notify or register before operating. Low-risk activities use one-time notification; high-risk activities require registration. Major Hazard Installations (MHI) must register at least six months before operations. Construction worksites have not required MOM registration since 1 April 2019.
Application steps
- Determine the activity and whether MHI rules apply
- use the appropriate notification or registration route
- supply the hazard assessment and supporting plans applicable to that route
- pay the assessed registration fee and maintain the required registration.
Documents to prepare
- Process Hazard Analysis for specified renewable registrations
- MHI assessment form for MHI premises
- available supporting award/purchase documents and location or layout plans.
