Scope and eligibility
The operator of a temporary fair needs SFA's permit for the fair period. Food-handling stalls have a separate stall licensing requirement; approval of the organiser's permit alone does not cover each stall.
Application steps
- Apply at least two weeks before the planned fair
- submit the appointment, site consent, support records, layout and declaration at least five working days before the start
- send food-stall details for separate processing
- pay S$60 and obtain the permit before opening.
Documents to prepare
- Operator appointment letter
- site-use approval
- support from relevant local associations or advisory bodies for public venues
- layout separating food-handling and other stalls with water, wash basins and chillers
- declaration of other required approvals.
Attachment filenames must be no longer than 130 characters and use letters, digits, underscores or hyphens. Spaces are converted to underscores. Check the accepted file formats and size for each upload field in the official application.

Important details and examples
Late outstanding documents can push the permitted start date back. For example, the source's Saturday 4 November 2023 fair required complete documents by Monday 30 October. Selling prepacked qualifying food and preparing food on-site have different stall requirements.
