Historical policy record
This article explains the CPF Advisory Panel’s 2015/2016 document. Amounts, account arrangements, projections and recommendations below belong to that publication, not current CPF entitlements, interest quotations or an investment offer. Check current CPF Board rules for an individual decision.
What the chart compares
The infographic explains a plan proposed to help with rising living costs: begin lower, then increase 2% annually. For the same premium, it compares the level Standard Plan with the proposed escalating path. It does not guarantee that 2% matches actual inflation.
The Basic Sum illustration
The example uses a Basic Retirement Sum of S$80,500 at 55 under the infographic’s historical assumptions.
| Plan | Example |
|---|---|
| Level Standard Plan | S$720 from age 65 for life. |
| Escalating plan | S$560 at age 65, increasing 2% yearly. |
Ways to raise the starting amount
The infographic presents topping up CPF LIFE or delaying the start up to age 70 as possible ways to raise starting payments. These choices trade off available cash or early income against later income. Actual eligibility and quotations require current CPF Board information; the infographic was explaining a proposal rather than guaranteeing the same figures to every member.
