Historical policy record
This article explains the CPF Advisory Panel’s 2015/2016 document. Amounts, account arrangements, projections and recommendations below belong to that publication, not current CPF entitlements, interest quotations or an investment offer. Check current CPF Board rules for an individual decision.
Planning across working life, 55 and 65
The infographic organises choices by stage: start saving early, select the retirement income needed at 55 and choose a payout pattern/start age from 65. It mentions OA-to-SA transfers, CPFIS and the then-new LRIS recommendation, spouse support, top-ups, deferral and withdrawal. Its account and proposal descriptions must not be read as current instructions.
2016 figures in the image
The amounts are for members turning 55 from January 2016 and Standard Plan parameters in 2016. They differ from the 2015 report’s initial payout estimates.
| Retirement sum | At 55 | Monthly for life |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | S$80,500 | S$660–S$720 |
| Full | S$161,000 | S$1,220–S$1,320 |
| Enhanced | S$241,500 | S$1,770–S$1,920 |
The trade-offs shown
The graphic says delaying to 70 could raise starting payouts up to 7% per year deferred; withdrawing 20% including the S$5,000 from 55 for eligible cohorts lowers monthly payouts permanently. It presents the escalating plan and LRIS as recommendations at that time. Use the image as a historical explanation, not a personal payout calculator.
