Historical policy record
This article explains the CPF Advisory Panel’s 2015/2016 document. Amounts, account arrangements, projections and recommendations below belong to that publication, not current CPF entitlements, interest quotations or an investment offer. Check current CPF Board rules for an individual decision.
Two additional choices
The release records government acceptance of an optional CPF LIFE plan rising 2% annually and a proposed simpler Lifetime Retirement Investment Scheme. The former addresses concerns over rising retirement costs with a lower initial payout; the latter targets members willing to accept investment risk but without expertise or time to manage a broad menu.
Investment design and next steps
The panel proposed a small number of low-fee passive diversified funds, long-term investing, public education and an expert investment council, while reviewing CPFIS for knowledgeable investors. The minister’s acceptance and statement of implementation intent are not proof that an LRIS product was then open for subscription; actual operating arrangements require separate confirmation.
