Document period and use
This article explains the 2012 document. Its original dates, wage figures and examples are retained as historical context; later orders and wage schedules take precedence for subsequent payroll periods.
Original wage ladder
The original report groups office/commercial, F&B and conservancy cleaning, then links jobs to skills and wages. Entry office general-cleaner basic pay was proposed at S$1,000, more demanding entry categories at S$1,200, multi-skilled machine operators at S$1,400 and supervisors at S$1,600. These values describe the original design, not today’s minimums.
Professionalisation and adoption
The model is intended to improve wages through better skills, productivity and clearer career progression, supported by recognised training, cleaning-business standards and responsible service procurement. Buyers should compare service outcomes and worker quality, rather than choose exclusively on headcount and lowest price.
