Historical policy record
This article explains the CPF Advisory Panel’s 2015/2016 document. Amounts, account arrangements, projections and recommendations below belong to that publication, not current CPF entitlements, interest quotations or an investment offer. Check current CPF Board rules for an individual decision.
Acceptance of Part One
Minister Tan Chuan-Jin accepted the panel’s Part One recommendations on behalf of the government. The reply places CPF alongside housing and healthcare in retirement support and recognises the panel’s engagement with Singaporeans. It agrees that members need more assurance over retirement sums while flexibility and choice must preserve long-term adequacy.
What the reply did and did not settle
The government said details of changes and other measures, including Silver Support, would be provided in Budget and Committee of Supply debates later that month. The letter thanked the panel and anticipated Part Two. Acceptance of recommendations in this letter is a historical policy decision; operational dates, eligibility and amounts require the subsequent implementing rules.
