Key actions in the bulletin
Chemical exposure may cause unusual odours, fumes or sudden illness. Biological incidents can involve suspicious powder or packages and illness patterns that take time to appear. Radiological material and explosives may be difficult to recognise without specialist equipment.
Do not touch, open, move or try to clean a suspicious substance or package. Move away, keep others from entering and contact the authorities. Follow official evacuation or shelter instructions and avoid exposure while helping others. A wet cloth cannot be relied upon as protection from hazardous chemicals or radiation.
