Edition and pandemic context
The eight-page guide is Edition 1.2, March 2022. It discusses adapting to Singapore’s Covid-19 “new normal” and worries about money, family, friends and health, recognising these reactions during an unprecedented period. Page 7 is intentionally blank.
Three wellbeing questions
The guide asks whether the reader is exercising and sleeping well, maintaining contact with friends, and noticing thoughts, especially negative ones. It connects looking after physical, social and emotional wellbeing with being able to care for family.
Nine signs of stress
The signs are too little or too much sleep, alcohol dependence, irritability or anger, changed behaviour such as unusual speech, weight changes, difficulty controlling thoughts, lost interest, frequent fear and/or a fast heart rate or difficulty breathing, and difficulty performing daily tasks. The guide encourages noticing changes and seeking help.
Three ways to manage worry
Maintain contact with friends and family in the dormitory or by phone/online. Share feelings with a friend or counsellor, practise gratitude and acceptance, and focus on what can be changed. Keep a regular routine including exercise, healthy meals and adequate sleep.
The counselling contacts printed in this edition
The guide encourages talking to dormitory or workplace friends. Its support directory lists HealthServe 3129 5000 (24 hours), Migrant Workers’ Centre 6536 2692 (24/7), and Hear4U WhatsApp 6978 2725 for English. These are historical contact details from the March 2022 edition.
Employer, health and scam concerns
For employer issues, the edition suggests FAST officers, MOM 6438 5122 (Monday–Friday 8.30am–5.30pm; Saturday 8.30am–1pm) and mom.gov.sg. For health concerns, it lists nearby recreation-centre or dormitory medical centres, telemedicine through FWMOMCare, and HealthServe’s Geylang Clinic (Tuesday–Thursday 6.30pm–9pm). For scams, it prints 999. These are the edition’s directory, rather than a newly issued service timetable.
