Spouses and work consent
A legally married spouse receives DP and may apply for LOC to work. A common-law spouse recognised under the law of their country or region receives LTVP and can also apply for LOC to work. Having the family pass does not itself substitute for that work-consent application.
Children and parents
Unmarried children under 21, including legally adopted children, use DP. The table lists unmarried disabled children aged 21 or above, unmarried stepchildren under 21 and the holder’s parents under LTVP. The page later gives a general exclusion for married or over-age children; read that together with its express adult disabled-child exception. Other adult children may obtain their own work pass if eligible.
Timing and financial risk
MOM recommends waiting until the ONE Pass is approved. Family DP and LTVP applications take approximately four weeks. Applying at the same time is possible, but the family application fees may be lost if the main pass is rejected. Detailed DP, LTVP and spouse-working pages contain their own application instructions.
