When renewal opens
The ordinary window opens six months before expiry; MOM’s date tool uses 180 days. Apply before expiry. Dependants of EP (Sponsorship) and EntrePass holders instead start three months before expiry. A missed deadline requires a new application.
Applying early does not sacrifice remaining validity: the renewed term starts when the current pass expires. Renewal is assessed against prevailing eligibility and is not guaranteed.
Validity, fees and processing
Renewed validity is limited to the main pass or requested duration, whichever is shorter. MOM identifies the employer or appointed employment agent as the renewal party.
| Item | Official requirement |
|---|---|
| Issuance fee | S$225 |
| Multiple Journey Visa | An additional S$30 if applicable |
| EP eService renewal | Within three weeks for most cases |
| EP (Sponsorship) and EntrePass dependants | Within eight weeks for most cases |
Online renewal and special form routes
Ordinary renewals use EP eService. Ensure the organisation’s preceding three years of turnover information is updated first.
EP (Sponsorship) and EntrePass dependants use the downloadable renewal form and submit it with supporting evidence through the corresponding online form. The outcome is emailed to the nominated contact.
IPA and issuance deadlines
Approval produces an IPA valid for three months for EP dependants or two months for S Pass dependants. Follow its instructions and have the renewed pass issued before the IPA or current pass expires, whichever is earlier.
Existing card and digital pass
Keep the existing card when the notification letter says to continue using it. Returning it unnecessarily results in a S$65.40 replacement charge including GST. When a new card is issued, cut the old one in half and discard it.
Help the dependant set up SGWorkPass using Singpass if not already done so they can view the digital pass.
