Start with eligibility and sponsorship
A DP is a family stay arrangement for eligible work-pass holders. The EP/S Pass eligibility page requires the main holder’s own fixed monthly salary of at least S$6,000, company sponsorship and a qualifying spouse or unmarried child below 21. Other main-pass categories have their own family rules.
Validity is limited by the main pass or requested term, whichever is shorter. Family status is not automatic work permission; employment or business operation needs the appropriate route.
Before application: evidence and special circumstances
Prepare passport particulars, relationship documents and necessary English translations. Check CDA vaccination verification for a foreign-born child aged 12 or below applying for a new DP.
A Singapore-born baby has separate birth-registration, passport and 42-day Special Pass arrangements described in the newborn guide.
Application, arrival, issuance and the card
Each dependant requires a separate application, either with or after the main application. Await approval before travel; issuance, card registration, digital-pass setup and delivery are separate stages.
The application fee is S$105 and issuance is S$225, plus S$30 for an applicable Multiple Journey Visa. Most EP/S Pass dependant applications take three weeks; PEP, EntrePass or sponsorship cases generally take six. Applicant and procedure depend on the main-pass branch.
Follow the official directory for later matters
The directory separately covers work, appeals, renewal, cancellation, replacement, changes and services/forms. Each task has its own deadlines; card validity is not the deadline for updating particulars or replacing a lost card.
