Two Eligible Training Categories
Employers may apply for semi-skilled or unskilled employees of related overseas companies, or foreign students studying at Singapore educational institutions. Student training must be course-required. Training Work Permit lasts up to six months; explain relationships and genuine training purposes.
Levy by Sector
The listed levy rates are construction S$300, offsite construction S$250, manufacturing S$250, marine shipyard S$350, process S$200 and services S$300. Confirm the employer’s sector. Training Work Permit hiring is capped by the sector’s foreign-worker quota, considering the existing workforce as well.
Quota, Bond and Medical Examination
Check the relevant quota for construction, manufacturing, marine shipyard, process or services. Each non-Malaysian Training Work Permit holder needs a security bond. Training Work Permit holders do not require a medical examination under this eligibility page; other administration duties still apply.
Distinguish Training Work Permit From Training Employment Pass
Training Employment Pass and Training Work Permit have different candidate, salary/course, duration and employer criteria. Review skill level, corporate relationship or course requirements before choosing. Plan objectives, supervision, dates, pay and accommodation, assigning quota, levy and bond responsibilities separately.
