What the release reports
MOM inspected 4,100 retail and food-service firms after their PWM adjustment periods. Most complied or corrected wages after engagement.
Details and conditions
Two retail employers remained non-compliant, underpaying twelve workers by about S$450 monthly each since April 2023. Their access to apply for or renew foreign work passes was suspended until the shortfalls were rectified.
Context and follow-up
Workers can check job levels and wages in the Progressive Wage Portal, then clarify discrepancies with employers or seek MOM or union help. Workshops and PWCS support assist compliance; receiving co-funding does not excuse paying below the applicable floor.
