PSU safety-training certificates: three former staff jailed

MOM publication date:

Announcement and status

Three former PSU Global staff were convicted for forged safety-course certificates and training records. Mohan Prabu received 20 weeks’ imprisonment, Veeranan Seeman 16 weeks and Murugaiyan Senthil six months; the role and provision table is below.

Case details and examples

Courses were shortened, practical sessions skipped or completed within an hour, answers supplied or altered, and everyone guaranteed a pass. False attendance and results were uploaded to MOM’s system. Director signatures were used with consent.

Official advisory and follow-up

PSU certificates were not recognised. Workers must complete recognised accredited training before deployment to affected safety-critical roles. Employers were notified of revised R1-related levy rates and past levy recovery. MOM found no evidence of resulting safety incidents among deployed affected workers, which did not make the false certification acceptable.
