Two agency licences suspended over upfront fees

MOM publication date:

Announcement and status

MOM suspended Global Recruiters’ licence 22C1327 and SDI Global’s licence 22C0975 in November 2024 while investigating complaints over agency fees collected before placement. Global Recruiters’ complaints concerned European jobs.

Case details and examples

The Employment Agencies Act prohibits agency-fee collection before the jobseeker is placed, including overseas placements. The release advises applicants not to pay until successfully placed with an employer and states the two-month-salary cap also applies to overseas placement.

Official advisory and follow-up

The suspension is the administrative action reported at this date, not a criminal conviction. Suspected early collection or excessive fees can be reported confidentially to MOM; the official link is retained for the agency-specific announcement.

Official source

This report is independently written from the MOM release dated above. Case status, policy announcements and historical figures refer to that release.
