EP Job Descriptions: Make Duties Verifiable
Use four fields: duties, time commitment, management scope and relevant experience. For delivery work, identify projects, teams, decisions and matching past experience. Organisation charts, contracts and the EP role should be consistent. Founder ownership is background, not a substitute for work duties.
Start with the work
List actual responsibilities before choosing a title. Explain the business areas managed, reporting lines and team relationships; director or general manager alone says little about the work.
Connect experience
Select relevant roles and projects and explain your own contribution. Avoid presenting an entire team’s achievement as your own or relying on unexplained jargon.
Maintain one version
Keep employment documents, organisation charts and application explanations consistent. Record changes and update connected records so roles and remuneration do not conflict across versions.
Preparation Example
For a role spanning sales and delivery, describe customer development, contract coordination and project management separately and connect them to your experience. This explains more than a general manager title alone.
Pre-consultation Checklist
Main responsibilities; reporting and management relationships; relevant projects; consistent employment documents.
EP Questions and Practical Answers
Is “Director” enough as a Self-Employed EP job description?
A title alone does not explain the work. Describe daily duties, management relationships, experience and remuneration. Director appointment is a corporate matter; an Employment Pass application still needs the proposed Singapore role and eligibility review.
