Who applies together?
A PR intending permanent relocation can apply to renounce. When a main applicant renounces, sponsored spouse and children under 21 must renounce together; a sponsored child aged at least 21 applies separately if choosing to renounce. Outstanding government matters or NS obligations may lead ICA to reject or withhold the request.
Documents and NS acknowledgement
Upload Annex A stating reasons, passport biodata/signature pages and relevant family/name/custody records. NS-liable male applicants require Annex B with age-appropriate applicant/sponsor acknowledgements; serving NSFs also need clearance. Each upload must be within 1 MB and non-English records require acceptable certified/notarised translations.
Processing and return of the IC
Apply online; complete requests generally take up to four weeks, with longer cases possible. Applicants in Singapore are advised to stay until completion, when a 30-day Visit Pass is issued. After the successful e-outcome, return the blue IC via a mission or registered mail within 14 days; a lost IC needs a statutory declaration or police report. A person who has already lost PR status is not applying to renounce an existing status; check current REP rules separately.
