CRS Registration and FATCA Information: Portal Preparation

This October 2021 user guide explains separate registration paths for institutions and trusts.

Source checked · 11 October 2026 · Document date: 23 Oct 2021 Historical document

Prepare identifiers and authorisation

Have the institution or trustee identifier, the authorised point-of-contact identity and contact details, and the appropriate authorisation letter ready. Select CRS registration, FATCA registration information or both, and enter the first calendar year in which the entity became a reporting SGFI—not the year in which the form is submitted. FATCA entries may require institution and sponsor GIINs; a sponsored closely held investment vehicle uses the sponsor GIIN as directed.

Choose the correct trust route

For trustee-filed trusts, indicate trust status and whether it has a Singapore tax reference number, then supply individual or corporate trustee details. Corporate trustees provide an authorised contact and letter; individual trustees do not require that letter in this guide. Upload the trust deed/agreement and required authorisation within the stated 2 MB limit, review declarations, submit and save the acknowledgement. The guide documents the 2021 screens, so current portal fields and updated legal obligations should take precedence where changed.
