Share lessons from past attacks, local radicalisation reports and indicators of suspicious people, vehicles or objects. Front-desk staff and security guards are important points of detection. Short, repeated briefings using MOM lesson plans may fit busy work schedules better than a single lengthy session.
Exercises and the 2019 seminar
Simulations test whether employees can apply the response in their own premises. Authorised red-team tests can examine reporting of a suspicious item, with observers recording reactions and a debrief explaining learning points; manage the exercise safely and avoid public alarm. The bulletin records about 600 representatives attending the 27 May 2019 seminar, including an SPF tabletop exercise.
