Permanent Incapacity Percentage Reference: Injuries and Assessment

Purpose of the reference table

This MOM reference lists injury descriptions and estimated permanent-incapacity percentages or ranges. It supports understanding a compensation calculation; the medically assessed percentage for a particular person is not determined by self-selecting the closest row.

Injuries, sub-injuries and percentages

ROM means range of motion. Ranges require clinical assessment. Repeated or incomplete entries in the original are retained as reference information, not interpreted as additional entitlements; the final wrist entry gives 0 without a specified sub-injury and should not be read as meaning all wrist injuries have zero incapacity.

Applying an assessed percentage

Use the assessed percentage with the applicable average monthly earnings, age factor and statutory accident-date limits. The percentage is not a promised payout, and different impairments should not simply be added together without the required assessment.
