Part-time and ad-hoc work
The FAQ explains fewer-than-35-hour part-time contracts, ad-hoc arrangements, licensing notifications and conversion from the equivalent full-time rank. For 2024 the SO hourly basic floor is S$10.10 and in 2025 S$10.95; higher ranks differ. The later December 2024 report extends the table through 2028.
Extra hours, leave and training
The FAQ distinguishes the 44-hour workweek, the maximum 72 monthly extra hours and the S$2,600 Part 4 basic-salary threshold. Moving above that threshold does not remove other Employment Act protections. Hours and payment should be agreed clearly, and the enhanced SO/SSO training transition applies separately from wages.

Both agencies and in-house employers must satisfy approved training modules. Consult the approved list and training-cost assistance linked below, and use the PW Portal to check job and wage records.
