OPW Suggested Technical Skills: Administrators and Drivers

Mandatory minimum versus suggested skills

Every resident OPW employee must complete either one WSQ course (there is no restriction on which WSQ course) or one employer-organised in-house programme. The TSC list is guidance and does not narrow that statutory choice.

In-house training needs clearly documented objectives, modality (classroom, on-the-job or blended), tasks/content and duration. Keep records identifying workers who completed it and be ready to provide supporting documents. The suggested TSC list introduces no additional compliance requirement.

Skills covered

The suggested list includes administrative customer orientation, communication, digital fluency, decision-making, problem-solving, data analytics, visualisation and prompt design. Driving suggestions span logistics, bus operations, safety, service, maintenance and electric/hybrid vehicles. They are references rather than prescribed modules.

Complete suggested skill families and codes

The first eight entries relate to administrators; the remaining entries relate to drivers. TSC proficiency runs from 1 to 6, while Critical Core Skills use Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. Codes are identifiers to find relevant courses, not a requirement to complete every listed course.
