Check both sides of the employment
The directory separates the helper’s age, nationality/citizenship and education criteria from the employer’s eligibility. Review both before applying; eligibility is not determined solely by finding a willing helper.
Financial and health safeguards
Separate guidance covers security bonds for non-Malaysian helpers, medical and personal-accident insurance, pre-employment medical examinations and six-monthly examinations. The latter includes postponement and waiver procedures; use those procedures rather than simply omitting a scheduled examination.
Orientation and frequent changes
First-time employers should review EOP attendance, providers and arrangements if unable to attend. First-time helpers have SIP registration and attendance requirements. An employer hiring a fourth helper within 12 months should additionally check the frequent-change requirements.
