Minimum retirement age
From 1 July 2026 the statutory minimum retirement age is 64 for Singapore citizens and permanent residents. Eligible employees can continue through re-employment. Retirement takes effect on the birthday reaching the applicable minimum age: someone turning 64 on 1 August 2026 has that retirement date.
Senior Employment Credit
MOM describes wage offsets of up to 7% for employers hiring Singaporean workers aged at least 60 earning under S$4,000 monthly. Check the SEC service for the applicable support rather than adding it automatically to employee salary.
Age-related dismissal appeal
An employee alleging wrongful dismissal because of age may appeal in writing to the Minister for Manpower within one month of dismissal. Re-employment eligibility and its separate dispute routes are explained in the linked guide.
