Who Cancels and When?
Employer/EA cancels within one week after notice ends, with scheduling up to 14 days ahead. Permanent departure requires cancellation within one week unless expired. PR conversion/expiry needs no cancellation, but legal stay still matters. Cancellation is normally immediate; levy stops one day before.
Before Cancellation: Tax, Pay and Travel
Follow MOM’s instruction to seek IRAS tax clearance at least a month before employment ends, settle outstanding matters and give reasonable repatriation notice. Cover checked-baggage flights and connecting travel unless the holder agrees in writing to pay. Check airline/destination requirements.
Short-Term Visit Pass and Family Impact
Cancel through EP eService on myMOM Portal. Request up to 30 days’ STVP for a holder still here; both parties receive it by email. Show STVP and passport at departure. Related family passes are cancelled without reinstatement. Expired holders also need timely requests; 30 days is not automatic.
After Cancellation: No Work and PCP Closure
No work after cancellation, including while awaiting departure. Cut/discard the card. Terminate any PCP separately with the Anchor Operator; it is not automatic, the termination month is non-refundable, and care remains available to month-end. Maintain lawful stay.
