Converted dormitory checks: lapses and twenty-four revocations

MOM publication date:

What the release reports

Inspections of more than six hundred factory-converted dormitories in April 2020 found minor lapses at fifty-seven, notably isolation capacity and cleanliness. Operators were told to rectify them.

Details and conditions

A separate check found twenty-four pass holders eating, drinking or gathering contrary to circuit-breaker restrictions; their passes were revoked and employment bans imposed.

Context and follow-up

Employers were reminded to pay salaries and protect welfare, while operators managed distancing and sanitation. Dormitory deficiencies and individual gathering breaches are separate findings under historical pandemic measures.
