What the release reports
Hafizuddin bin Jaafar received six weeks’ imprisonment, a S$50,750 fine and a S$1,700 payment order after false domestic-worker applications and kickback collection.
Details and conditions
He obtained and renewed a permit for a worker who never lived or worked at his home, collecting S$9,380 between 2018 and 2020 to let her stay and seek other work.
Context and follow-up
The worker was warned, repatriated and permanently barred. Domestic permits authorise household duties only for the named employer and address. Truthful employment must underpin an application; keeping a pass valid for payment is not legitimate employment.
