From September 2022, firms hiring foreigners must pay full-time locals at least S$1,400 monthly or part-timers S$9 hourly, unless a higher PWM floor applies.

Retail PWM starts, while cleaning, security and landscape rules extend to in-house staff. Employers classify workers by the role taking more than half their time and update job data through OED.
Context and follow-up
The initial six months focus on adjustment and education without pass-privilege suspension for these new requirements. PWCS co-funding assists eligible increases. The LQS figures belong to this historical launch and were subsequently increased.
