What the release reports
A six-year wage schedule starts in July 2023 for waste collection and materials recovery, enforced through NEA licensing and MOM’s work-pass system.
Details and conditions
From January 2024, eligible resident workers with twelve months’ service receive a mandatory annual PWM bonus. Existing bonuses of at least one month’s last basic wage can meet the requirement, avoiding duplication.
Context and follow-up
Non-compliant firms face investigation and enforcement, including barriers to hiring new foreign workers. The source links role definitions and wage schedules, with a review intended in 2025. Employers must check eligibility and actual bonuses rather than assume every payment has to be added twice.
