What the release reports
MOM announced an enhanced course for 2025 and mandatory forklift refresher training from early 2027. Operators will need training at least every three years.
Details and conditions
The course combines theory and practice on legislation, load charts, stability, pre- and post-operation checks, safe techniques and lessons from accidents. The existing safety guideline already recommended a three-year cycle.
Context and follow-up
Employers and principals must ensure operators complete the course within the required period before operating forklifts. A later circular would provide implementation details. The announcement follows inspections linking many forklift lapses to overdue refresher training.
