Eligibility and consent
A parent/legal guardian may apply where the child was born in Singapore, is under one and has not previously had a name alteration. Provide both parents’ identification and the other named parent’s signed consent. Without consent, provide a court order granting sole authority to change the particulars.
Fees and replacement
Application costs S$33 plus S$18 for the new digital birth certificate; fees are non-refundable. Complete requests normally take three working days. After approval, the earlier digital certificate is cancelled and replaced with one showing the new name.
